December 16th-18th
16th – Fulmars continue to be reported along the south cliffs with 2 pairs on the cliffs near Clonque. Potentially a new site for Fulmar should they breed.

17th – 1 Sandwich Tern in Braye Bay, 1 Grey Wagtail on the obs Wall.
A handful of birds ringed included 2 Dartford Warblers. Despite being a resident breeding species this is the first ringing record for the island and it brings the Alderney species of birds ringed total to 100. Also ringed, a female Firecrest and 1 Chiffchaff.

18th – After almost a week of southerly winds a change last night to north Westerly and this morning another influx of Thrushes. Mainly Redwings, around 50 over Longis reserve this morning along with a dozen Fieldfares. New birds ringed included 12 Redwings, 1 Blackcap, 1 Meadow Pipit and 1 Stonechat.
The Water Pipit was showing well between Longis car park jetty and the golf green opposite the Obs. Last day today for assistant warden Joe England. Top job Joe, we all wish you well and hope to see you back here soon.
