The ABO continues to turn up non avian species which have never previously been recorded on the island before. This ‘bug-eyed beastie’ is Notonecta viridis, not only the first one ever spotted in Alderney but also the Bailiwick Islands.
This latest ‘ first record’ takes us to over 30 species of fauna and flora discovered by the ABO since 2016!
Whilst we are super keen it is fair to say that this amazing track record achieved by our small team is somewhat down to lack of historical scientific recording.
