A flurry of recently fledged birds (Song Thrush, Blackbird, Greenfinch, Robin and Great Tit)  boosted the ringing totals to 35 processed this morning around Essex Farm. See Ringing Totals page for full details.

I have received a definitive list of the birds of the Channel Islands from Dr. H. Glynn Young. The total Alderney bird list as of the end of 2015 was 287 Species.

Song Thrush  – Essex Farm, recently fledged.

Today the Obs moth trap contained our first Cinnabar, Scalloped Hazel, Pale Tussock, and the below Barred Red Moth of which the green variety is more usual here and uncommon in the UK.
