2020 summer ‘Wild Weekends’ & mid-week short breaks
Alderney Bird Observatory are offering the opportunity for residents of the Bailiwick to visit Alderney for 2-night breaks starting 1st July continuing through until 1st Sept. These will focus on taking in the very-best of Alderneys diverse wildlife from visiting the puffin colony on a seabird adventure boat trip with Avanti marine Tours, bird ringing, guided walks spotting wonderful wildflowers and butterflies, to an after dark safari moth trapping, bat monitoring and not forgetting the Alderney ‘blonde hedgehog’!
These short breaks included staying at the 4 STAR rated self-catering Nunnery, HQ of Alderney Bird Observatory all within the walls of the Alderney Roman signal fort overlooking Longis Bay. Tours are conducted by resident expert guide John Horton who annually leads several specialist wildlife holiday tours to Alderney for renowned international wildlife tour company Naturetrek. John is also supported by other local experts in their field. The program includes walks at an easy pace of up to a couple of miles, and luxury minibus transport provided by Alderney Tours.
This opportunity is open to everyone, the emphasis is on participants enjoying a fun, relaxed and informative few days discovering the very-best of the natural world and heritage that Alderney has to offer. Each short break can accommodate up to 10 guests (for groups of under 6 persons please contact us for revised trip rates).
Funding from these specialist short holidays will help to support the Alderney bird observatory, a Channel Islands registered charity.

Bookings rates are £40 a twin room (£30 single occupancy) and £60 for the family room (£15pppn for 1-4 person’s).

You may prefer the option of asking us to match you up with same-sex room companions during your stay, in order to avoid having to pay a single room supplement. Please contact us in advance if you prefer this option.
Our group room sleeps four in single beds.
